Customer Reviews

We had this product in service for about three years when the top section of the faucet separated from the base. I called Delta at their Customer Service line, they had me take two pictures and text them back to them, and they ordered us a replacement faucet. That's what I call great customer service-especially in this day and age.It is wonderful not to have to touch a dirty/germy sink handle. The handle must be placed in the "on" position for the touches features to work. You can either tap the spout to turn the water on or off or wave your hand in front of the blue light to do the same.We bought 2 of these faucets. If we had a 100 sinks I would buy this faucet for all of them. We have already bought a 3rd to use in the renovation of our other bath. Great product! This review is for the 538-MPU-DST. "MPU" stands for "Metal pop-up" which means the underneath parts of the faucet are metal instead of the plastic of the 538-DST. I have heard arguments for one material vs. the other (durability vs. no corrosion). I decided to go with metal. The faucet is attractive and has a nice weight to it though it does have a seam on the faucet spout that is not easy to see in the pictures. The installation instructions were more complicated than they had to be and spread out of order among a poster-size sheet (not the best medium when crammed under a sink) but I have done these before so it was not terribly difficult with a helper on top to make sure things are lined up.The faucet dispenses water with good flow and seems to respond more quickly to tempurature changes though the handle than the old faucet it replaced. The trim plate (required for 3 hole installations) was thin gauge metal but seemed to do the trick. The plate came equipped with a foam gasket to prohibit water penetration. What I did not like was:PEX supply lines - they are very difficult to bend (the manual recommends no smaller than an 8" curve). You can trim them for "custom" installations but I was able to work with the out of the box length.Handle does not operate smoothly - it could be that I got a dud but the handle does not have smooth operation like the Kohler faucets I have used. This is bad because the jerkiness can cause you to go from freezing cold to scalding hot (it does have a movement limiter if you want to control the max temp).Handle was not strait - it is pointed slightly to the left and no amount of adjusting would get it to line up with the spout. The adjustment is very difficult unless you have a long allen key.I am going to call Delta to see if they have heard of these issues and intend to swap the faucet out with a replacement (either through Delta or Amazon). I am dissapointed as I have not had these types of issues with Kohler (though they were not perfect either the products seem to have better quality control). All in all a good faucet but for the money it should not have these issues. Hopefully this was just a defect.Love the champagne bronze faucet, but it is hard to keep clean. Shows every water mark and needs to be wiped often.I guess I didn't read the instructions closely enough, but the faucet works in two ways... 1) you touch it on, it stays on up to a couple of minutes, and you touch it off. 2) You get your hand close to it, it comes on, and stays on as long as your hand is moving around it (for example washing your hands). When the motion stops, a couple of seconds later, the water stops. Both modes work great! I do sometimes trigger it by reaching for something near the faucet, but I will eventually get used to it.Installation was pretty simple, the hard part is the requirement to lay inside a cabinet or reach in to do the work (I'm not as young as I used to be). I have installed faucets before, and I found it very easy. you use a wrench to hook up the supply lines, and everything else just snaps together. Also Delta finally got smart and made the drain popup stem out of flexible plastic, I could never get the solid metal ones to line up and adjusted quite right, but the flexible one was easy. The faucet I was replacing was a 3-hole widely spaced faucet, and the supplied piece is not intended to cover that up. I resolved that situation by buying a couple of matching bronze soap dispensers. I could also have used a bronze plug, but that would just be a waste. I have one for soap, and one for Orange cleaner (for after I work on my car).If you have young kids, this is a great faucet to keep them from wasting water. The installation was really easy - after watching the video. The paper instructions seem to miss some steps or assume you have different parts than you actually do. For example, this one comes with a plastic drain stem, but the instructions assume you have the metal one. My advice: watch the videos that Delta has online - they are clear and make installing the faucet trivial.I really liked the look and feel of this faucet. I ended up having to replace it with a smaller model since it obstructed the sink too much. Should have paid more attention to the dimensions and scale.Al costo que la encontré muy buen precio, fácil instalacion lo hice yo mismo, buen funcionamiento, si la compran verifiquen la presión de su red, requiere presión alta si quieren un chorro con fuerza. Para nosotros es suficiente no tiene fuerza, no es problema de la llave, con bombeo mejora la fuerza.I have always used Delta faucets in my kitchen and bathrooms. Although they are expensive, I find the quality is definitely worth it.Faucet works great, and love all the features!Easy to install. Looks great. Works fine.Very eady to install and appears to be well built.
